Housing Programs

Vesta offers housing programs that support members of our community experiencing persistent and severe mental illness in receiving the individualized staff support they need to cultivate independent living skills.

With one of the most comprehensive ecosystems of mental healthcare in Maryland, clients in our housing program are involved from day one with our community integration / day programs (PRP) and outpatient mental health clinics (OMHC), where they receive individualized therapy and medication management with licensed prescribers. Each of our housing clients is also connected with a Case Manager, who helps to manage all aspects of the clients care, from medical appointments to developing rehabilitation plans.

All these services are in-house at Vesta, meaning we don’t need to refer out to any other providers. This makes Vesta’s continuum of care one of the strongest in the State.

We offer housing programs at Forestville, Lanham, Odenton, Oxon Hill, & Waldorf locations.

Our housing programs range from 24/7 in-home support care to less intensive supported housing for clients that have demonstrated independent living skills. Please see more specific program information below:

Residential Rehabilitation Program (RRP)

Our Residential Rehabilitation Program (RRP) provides housing, client-centered therapy and medication management services, and enhanced case management to individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illnesses.  Our mental health services are available 24/7, helping to avoid emergency hospital stays and reduce frequent hospitalizations.

Vesta offers four levels of support: intensive care with 24/7 in-house staff support, intensive care with 40 hours (5 days) of in-house staff support, general care with 24 hours (3 days) of in-house staff support, and Supported Living with weekly visits from case managers for our most independent clients.

Our services are flexible and tailored to each individual client’s rehabilitation needs.  Our programs focus on independent living skills, including health management and housing stability maintenance, as well as social skills, nutrition, and employment readiness.

Referrals & Eligibility

To be eligible, adult clients must have a psychiatric diagnosis that meets the Priority Population criteria.

All referrals come through the Local Behavioral Health Authority or your County’s Core Service Agency in partnership with a licensed mental health provider.

Please note: we do not accept new clients directly into our Supported Living program. If your client or loved one is interested in Supported Housing, please refer them to our Community PRP services (C-PRP) to begin receiving Vesta services and allow for a determination of needs.
